I'm in Hawaii for a big sciencey convention this week. We're staying in a sort of older hotel on the beach in Waikiki in the midst of a giant system of outdoor malls. Though our accommodations are perhaps less fancy, there's still some charm in that it's less of an appalling maze of luxury shopping experiences. It's very warm and exceptionally humid. I went in the ocean briefly this evening before going to some parties. However, since the majority of attendees are from eastern timezones, the sessions start brutally early; so I pulled myself away in the hopes of waking up in time to attend.
greetings from waikiki.
Huh. This is a weird welcome back to my annual visit of the old Livejournal friendship page. It reminds me of how, at the time, I thought it was…
The aftermath of the election makes it seem like we're all in for a very serious emo time, better suited to journaling than yelling on Facebook, yet…
Hey. it does!
