slate on cartier-bresson

Slate has a very nice slideshow essay [#] about the early work of Henri Cartier-Bresson, whose retrospective is now on display at the International Center for Photography in New York. I think that many (or all?) of these were at foam when I was in Amsterdam last year.

cartier-bresson's "Sharpness is a bourgeois concept" is one of my favorite art quotes. along with picasso's "Painting is not done to decorate apartments. It is an instrument of war."

blah blah blah, though. what are you doing tonight? wanna get a drink?
those are both great art quotes. I don't know that I had a favorite before now, but maybe I should adopt one of them.

I left my wallet at work; so I'm staying home tonight. I think I will watch television and make graphs.
hey, that's what i'm doing. i mean, except for the graph-making part.

i guess staying in is a good idea. i should be alert for my divorce tomorrow.
yes. i might end up skipping that part, too.
