Last night I went to a Mariners game with some of the visitors from the Netherlands. Although I'm not completely clear on all of the rules of the game, I knew enough to be a competent guide to our national pastime and was able to highlight important food items to consume while in the ballpark. We got $10 upper deck tickets due to an unexpected promotion. Even though Safeco was really empty, our seats were in the sun for most of the game and afforded us a really great view of the city (including the fetching new Washington Mutual tower) so we didn't end up claiming open seats. On top of the pleasant weather, Seattle managed to win the game, which was a nice bonus.
That afternoon I saw a screening of Brothers of the Head [siff], a fake documentary about conjoined twin rockers that turned out to be both funny and kind of affecting.
