dissolve the senate?

Um, doesn't this "compromise" on the filibuster in the Senate sound a lot like giving up? The Democrats agree to only filibuster in "extraordinary" circumstances and the Republicans assert that they can still change the rules in the future.

Apparently Priscilla Owen wasn't actually an "extraordinary" case in the first place? At least not as extreme as the prospect of a Senate slumber party:

Perhaps if they'd offered to do a screening of Revenge of the Sith people would have been willing to stick around?
