The point of this being that I realized that I still have last year's half-read issue in my coffee table because I kept thinking that I'd eventually get back to it. I'm about halfway through the fourth edition -- so far, my favorite idea is "land mine detecting plants" [nyt] and my favorite of the many entertaining photo illustrations is for the "employable liberal arts major" [nyt] -- maybe I'll finish this year's (and maybe the now dusty third edition, too).
