six-month-old interview

A few weeks ago, I bought a copy of Issue 8 of The Believer on eBay -- I forgot to get it while it was on the shelf & it isn't carried by the library -- to read the interview of David Foster Wallace by Dave Eggers. I finally got around to scanning it for a friend and decided that I might as well post it here in case anyone else is interested:
Interview with David Foster Wallace
"My own plan for the coming fourteen months is to knock on doors and stuff envelopes. Maybe even wear a buton. To try to accrete with others into a demographically significant mass. To try extra hard to exercise patience, politeness, and imagination on those with whom I disagree. Also to floss more"

In addition to comments on the upcoming political season, there are some interesting discussions of the difficulty of interdisciplinary communication, writing process, and quitting chewing tobacco.

I'd feel a bad about posting this, but they aren't that great about putting things online and I couldn't find it in any full text databases. So. Buy an issue sometime -- they have consistently good stuff.
