blame it on the rain

today was pretty uneventful: I took pictures of the big red flowers outside my window, went to my office where I was only inspired to put the near overwhelming stacks of articles and papers into the folders in the file cabinet. during this endeavor, I threw away lots of old things, which made me feel very productive in terms of keeping the recycling bin useful. My real motivation for going was filling out a travel voucher so that I don't go broke from the S.F. trip.

later, I went home and took a nap, watched a DVD (xx/xy), bought some groceries (several duplicate items -- how is this possible when I have almost no food in the kitchen? I really don't know.), had some tea at Victrola, and read some articles that I've been carrying around with me for the past couple weeks.

my ikea plant (gardenia?) is almost certainly dead, but I'll give it a week to perk up before sending it out into the wild to fend for itself.

dupes

I ALWAYS do that, esp. with cans of tuna. So I made an "anti-shopping list". I just buy everything that looks good, unless it's on the list.

Re: dupes

an anti-list is a good idea, though I really shouldn't have needed it last night --

kitchen contents before grocery shopping:
wine
beer
tomato sauce
salsa
butter
pasta
cereal

kitchen contents after grocery shopping:
wine
beer
tomato sauce (x 1.5)
salsa (x 1.5)
butter
pasta (x 1.5)
cereal
yogurt
tortilla chips
frozen peas
Could you please eat more?
fine.

I just ate a slice of crappy cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory that someone brought to our office because she thought it was St. Patrick's Day.

when I become obsese I'll blame it on you!

That's pretty much what I have too, except in Costco servings.

I think gardenias like warmer humid climates but they smell good when they bloom.
It's looking a little better today, but I'm afraid that radiator heat isn't the best environment for it.
