the only earth?


If you leave a party just as someone's running to fetch a laptop to showcase a weird german music video that "isn't exactly porn", are you getting out too late or too early? I stuck around long enough to find out that there were technical difficulties with the e-mail connection, which felt like an appropriate compromise position.


In other news of the weird, I found myself appreciating three different Knute Berger stories in this week's edition of Seattle Weekly.

Do you ever find yourself putting songs into an on-the-fly playlist just to make your morning commute seem like an exceptionally long tracking shot or a gauzye movie montage? And then you end up listening to those few songs over and over again, walking places, until you running into a friends and both momentarily extract earbuds to stop imposing your soundtrack on the rest of the world for a brief conversations? Yeah, I didn't think so.

Still. It's probably time to get rid of these.

As far as I'm concerned, there's really no comparison between the near-perfect short story November 16 version of that song and the Band of Horses version ("I go to the barn because I like the") that ended up on Funeral Everything All the Time.
