the only earth?

weekdays of fun

On Monday I typed up the Grey's Anatomy recap, went to the gym, and returned to pub quiz.

Today, I woke up early {first too early -- I think my apartment's heat has finally caught up with the weather (or vice versa). Or I'm waking up drenched in sweat just for fun.} to get into my office for a few hours before most of the afternoon was consumed with campus-related meetings. Between them, I did manage to spend some quality time working on a seriously great graph and eating a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup.

At the end of the day, I went to the University Bookstore to buy a travel guide for Amsterdam and think about buying some CDs to learn a little bit of Dutch. I found a couple that looked good, and since I had my iBook with me I decided to look at reviews to see if the books were worthwhile. Although the user comments were good, I also noticed that Amazon was selling them at prices considerably cheaper than the bookstore so I just ordered online and went home.

In a way, using one store's free wifi to buy books from another store seemed like a kind of crappy thing to do, but since Amazon's headquartered in Seattle it's still like buying local.

Oh yeah. Today Seattle was besieged by a mystery smell [mb]. It was no blackout or transit worker strike, but it provided a tiny bit of citywide camaraderie through the shared experience of minor inconvenience.
