a few incomplete and run-on sentences about today

An eventful morning and afternoon: laundry and techfee, respectively followed by a brief stop at Solstice where I read a little bit more of Einstein's Dreams and talked to Brendan.

Later, Creeper Lagoon and Aveo at Graceland by way of Six Arms. I think that the biggest crowd was there for Aveo, which is understandable yet surprising.

Despite my enjoyment of both bands -- the Aveo guys seemed especially crazy -- there were some other highlights. For instance: possibly seeing Kathleen Wilson and several Biostatistics students (not together), the completely insane guy rocking out attempting group hugs, the lead singer of Aveo getting rid of his stupid hat, the practically free ($5) new Creeper Lagoon EP Remember the Future.

That's about it.

Governor Ryan has used his last days in office to empty Illinois' death row: "The Legislature couldn't reform it, lawmakers won't repeal it, but I will not stand for it — I must act"

Today was very laid back. I listened to writers and directors on the Fellowship of the Ring DVD this morning while I tried to learn to solve the Rubik's cube. I have this irrational belief that it's a skill that could come in handy some day. Like when the aliens come to take us away.

I went out through the rain to get a haircut, putting my fashion mullet dreams on hold. Though it's not exactly short I think it's might be back to the "fur" stage now.

I'll probably just watch a movie or read or something that combines laziness and introversion.
