plot summary: Sigur Ros show was amazing

I finally got my eTicket from Ticketmaster, which was a relief since the Sigur Ros show was tonight. I ran before going, so I was starving by the time I went downtown. Luckily, the Moore Theatre is conveniently located near the great falafel place. Unluckily, tahini dripped all over my coat while I was walking there.

When I arrived, there was a huge line that wrapped around the block. Ellen, Tim, Al, and Shelly got there a few minutes later. Our switcheroo scheme to relocate from the balcony to the main floor went off without a hitch (even though we didn't think to make copies of the floor tickets). Ellen and I had stopped at the semi-hidden bar for expensive gin and tonics as a diversionary tactic. By the time we returned to the seats, a good musician with terrible lyrics was playing to warm-up the crowd. Possibly to demonstrate a reason for the lack of real lyrics in Sigur Ros music.

A girl in the audience had special cheers that were really strange and the guy in front of me had a head the size of a watermelon. I thought that my neck might break from constantly being tilted.

Even so, the Sigur Ros show was amazing. In particular, the drummer rocked as hard as he could. They played songs from all of their albums and didn't do an encore. Though they're a little blurry due to my reluctance to use the flash, I did take some pictures.

After the show, we went to the Hurricane where I sent a text message to Melissa, who was in the booth across from us with Quent. It was really funny at the time.
I had a weird omelet (salsa, avocado, sour cream, cheddar cheese) and got to hear lots of great Tim and Al stories.

text messages = fun!

You know that line that went around the block? Quent and I were right near the front of it. We got there at a little before 6 or so. IT WAS SO COLD.

The show was amazing. =)))

Re: text messages = fun!

yeah. really cold.

I felt like I was being so good by getting there over an hour early!

Even though I would have liked to have been closer and standing for the show, I was really happy that we escaped from the balcony. So I will not complain.
i think that you were only a few rows behind us.

:)

Why, did you notice the top of your head in one of my pictures?

Re: :)

I recognized you (Ellen, actually) from briefly meeting at Dante's a few weeks ago, but I wasn't sure it was you or not. Now I have confirmation.

FYI, seated in the row between us was very wise man.
shouldn't have skipped it

*sigh*
*sigh* , indeed.
