The farewell brunch section of the hypothetical brunch book took place this morning at Louisa's in honor of Chris's impending departure for NYC. Rather than dwelling on sentimentality, our large group focused on solving major world issues like the illegalization of chewing tobacco on professional baseball fields, the standardization of calendars, metric time, and the futility of science. After breakfast, we stood around in a migratory circle (fittingly, near the Eastlake street corner sidewalk art celebrating the gelatinous house).

My saturday night induced headache still lingering, I spent much of the afternoon watching the Olympics and trying to nap. The lack of synchronization between the NBC networks and CBC combined with multiple levels of tape delay was a little more than I am able to process. Somewhere there must be a key to standardize the television schedules. Still, accidentally finding out the results of an event is not so bad when it precludes watching an entirely hopeless basketball game.
